Panic, pandemic,
Frozen peas.
Toilet paper, hand soap, gin.

Foil pops releasing Panadol, smooth under my fingers.
This is valuable, keep it hidden.

Hoard essential items in case they shut up everything.

lockdown life, we all feel lost.

No one seems to care but they all sing the same tune.

We want out of this too.

A bright sunny day and faces covered, no casual greeting,
they hide behind a mask with fear in their eyes,
they cross the road to avoid me.

Mask, keys, hand sanitiser, phone,
modern-day armour,
get back inside, where it is safe.

Fear, furious, forge ahead.
Flatten the curve,
Stop the spread.

Fear-mongering media,
check on your friends.
